Thousand Year Blood War Arc
Can't Fear Your Own World
Six months after the conclusion of the war against the Wandenreich, Ichibē is seen supervising the process of sealing Yhwach as the new Soul King. Shunsui Kyōraku, who happens upon the scene, engages the monk in a brief discussion regarding the importance of the Soul King's existence and the possibility of having to seal Ichigo Kurosaki under the name of the 'Soul King' if the circumstances had worsened. They are interrupted by the arrival of Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez and Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck, with a rescued Tier Harribel in tow, who also observe the sealing of Yhwach. Harribel speaks up and asks if that is what they will be calling the 'Soul King'. Ichibē asks if this is something she can accept, to which she responds by saying she is naught but a defeated soldier and has no say in the matter, but that she understands why their former leader, Sōsuke Aizen, continued to hate such a being.
Ichibē and Ōetsu are later discussing the events perpetrated by Tokinada Tsunayashiro and the Zanpakutō he stole from the palace, Ikomikidomoe. At the end of their conversation, Ichibē mentions the significance of their 'ordinary peace', keeping the three worlds separate, to which he calls out to Yhwach and sarcastically refers to him as "his Majesty, Yhwach". Sometime following this, Ichibē speaks to a new generation of Soul King soldiers on the history of the Soul Society and its Original Sin.

Ichibē Hyōsube vs Yhwach (Loss)
- In the 13 BLADEs databook, each of the Royal Guard members are given a designation in regards to their rank and the cardinal direction they are associated with, except for Ichibē who is listed as unknown.
- In 13 BLADEs, Ichibē's Bankai is listed as unknown while Shirafude Ichimonji is listed as his Shinuchi. However, according to Ichibē, Shinuchi was the term originally used for Bankai before the latter was named by Ichibē. It is currently unknown whether Tite Kubo intended to suggest a distinction between Shinuchi and Bankai, or if this is simply noted to accentuate Ichibē's use of the older term when releasing Shirafude Ichimonji.
